3. Advanced Hardware Modifications

⚠️ Disclaimer: The following modifications are intended for advanced users only.
Proceed with caution; any damages incurred during modification will void any returns.

External Power (Bypassing the Battery)

To run the MM Panel Plus on a continuous external power source rather than the internal battery:

  • Carefully snip the wires leading to the battery.

  • Connect a stable 5V DC power adapter or a stripped USB power cable to these wires.

  • Warning: Exceeding 5V or reversing polarity will cause permanent hardware failure.

Button Modifications & Removal

If your project requires a "clean" look without physical buttons, follow the protocols below.

TechImportant Tips: For the button removals and modifications, we strongly recommend using heat-shrink tubing over the soldered joint to prevent short circuits. Electrical tape is a secondary alternative. To avoid accidental shorts and board damage, ensure wires are cut one at a time.

Component Modification Action Resulting Behavior
Power Cut wires at the button and join the red and black wires together. Unit starts playing immediately when power is applied.
Play/Pause Snip wires and insulate ends (or desolder from the board). Button function is disabled.
Next/Prev Snip wires and insulate ends (or desolder from the board). Button function is disabled.
Volume +/- Snip wires and insulate ends (or desolder from the board). Unit locks at the last set volume level.

troubleshooting

    1. Make sure your battery is full charged.

    2. Try a longer press on the power button, sometimes a quick press may not work.

    3. If you have made any custom wiring modification to the power source or switch, double check those connections.

  • Once you plug in your mini LCD, it will appear just like a thumb drive or SD card. On a PC, look for it under 'This PC' in your File Explorer. On a Mac, you’ll find it right on your Desktop or in the Finder sidebar under 'Locations’.

  • Please be aware that physical modifications (such as extending wires, changing switches, or altering the power supply) are not covered by our support policy. Once a unit has been physically modified, it is no longer eligible for repair or replacement. However, if you are comfortable performing your own repairs and simply need technical guidance, contact us and our team will provide as much assistance as possible.
