NOTE: The converter app is NOT needed for the Flat Panel Plus or MM Panel Plus.
Those devices can play MP4 files natively.

How to install & Use the Mac App

1. Open the Installer

Download the installer and double-click to unzip it. Inside, you will find a file named Mini_Mod_Converter_Installer.dmg. Double-click this file to open the installation window. IMPORTANT: Please note that this app DOES NOT have an interface. It is simply an icon that you drag your video onto for conversion. If you double click the app once installed it will not doing anything. This is normal. Please carefully follow all instructions provided.

2. Install the Application

When the new window appears, simply drag the MiniMod Converter icon and drop it onto the Applications folder icon. This copies the software onto your computer.

3. Grant Permission (If Prompted)

Because Apple prioritizes security, you may see a message stating the app cannot be opened. If this happens:

  • Open System Settings (or System Preferences).

  • Navigate to Privacy & Security.

  • Scroll down to the "Security" section and click "Open Anyway" to complete the setup.

4. Launch the App

You can now find MiniMod Converter in your Applications folder or via Launchpad. Open it to begin!

Tip: If you plan on converting videos often we recommend drawing the app to your dock. This way any time you need to convert a video simply drag it to the Mini Mod dock icon and done!

5. Converting videos

Once you have the converter installed, simply drag your video onto the app icon. Your converted video will appear in the same location as the source video. For example: if your video is in your Downloads folder, the converted version will be there as well. It will have the same filename but will end in .AMV.

6. Transfer Video

Now that you have your converted video, connect your device to your computer via USB-C, it should show up like an external drive. Drag and drop your video onto the device.

7. Eject and Disconnect

Before unplugging the cable, right-click the device icon and select Eject. This ensures your files are saved correctly and prevents data corruption. Once ejected, you may safely disconnect the USB-C cable.

8: Power On

Long-press the power button on your device to turn it on and enjoy your video!


How to INSTALL & Use the PC App

The app should work anywhere on your system however we recommend saving it to your Programs folder or Desktop folder.

3: The Warning

You may get a pop-up from windows requesting permission to open or install the app as it is not from the windows App Store. Simply agree to continue.

4. Converting videos

Once you have the converter installed, simply drag your video onto the app icon. You may see a terminal code window pop up for a short period and then close. This is just the app doing its magic and normal. Your converted video will appear in the same location as the source video. For example: if your video is in your Downloads folder, the converted version will be there as well. It will have the same filename but will end in .AMV.
